Today, Oct. 12, is International Day of Palliative Care. A day when we reflect on the care of children who unfortunately cannot be cured. At KinderThuisZorg, we have been providing palliative and terminal care to children in their own familiar environment for many years. Last year, we were able to provide care to about 5,500 children, of which about 70 children and their families received palliative- terminal care. This is intensive, but also incredibly valuable care.
In this episode, our host and also (pediatric) palliative specialist Marguerite Gorter talks with pediatric nurses Ellen van Oene and Jolande Janssen about palliative and terminal care. They talk more about this valuable care and how we at KinderThuisZorg provide it.
