Welcome to KinderThuisZorg Nederland! Active throughout the country.
Yes, you read it correctly. Our organization carries the name used in the Netherlands to indicate that you are dealing with a home care organization that is there specifically for children and adolescents. Because we are the only child home care organization that provides care throughout the Netherlands, and to avoid being confused with other child home care organizations, we have called ourselves KinderThuisZorg Nederland for the sake of clarity.
Als grootste kinderthuiszorgorganisatie in Nederland bieden wij jaarlijks zorg aan ruim 6000 kinderen en werken wij samen met alle (kinder)ziekenhuizen in Nederland. Toch zul je weinig van de grootte van de zorgorganisatie merken. KinderThuisZorg Nederland is lokaal en kleinschalig georganiseerd en werkt vanuit verschillende kinderteams. De kinderverpleegkundigen wonen en werken in de regio waar ze werken, waardoor zij vertrouwd en bekend zijn met het ziekenhuis in de omgeving maar ook met andere (zorg)partijen waarmee wordt samengewerkt.
We help, support and think along
Having a child with a care requirement puts a huge strain on parenting, both emotionally and practically. In addition to the worries parents may already have with healthy children, you get additional worries. We are here specifically to support you in caring for your child. In doing so, we fully realize that you did not ask for "strangers" in your life. That is why we help you to stay in control as much as possible in a safe and pleasant way.
All conceivable nursing care
Feeding tube care, infusion therapy, administering injections, wound care; it is daily work for our pediatric nurses. Especially with children, nursing procedures are often complex and it is very pleasant to have a pediatric nurse ready to continue care at home with you. Think of ventilation, trachea cannula care, catheterization or comfort care.

Care in a familiar place, at home, at school or any place that best suits the situation, so that normal life can be resumed as much as possible. All this care is performed by BIG-registered and specially trained pediatric nurses who are trained exactly the same as pediatric nurses in the hospital. This is very important to us and we stand for it!
Trauma-free child care at KinderThuisZorg Nederland
All pediatric nurses at KinderThuisZorg Nederland attend specific training to reduce anxiety, pain and stress as much as possible, and the goal of prevention on anxiety and stress reduction is added as standard in every care plan.
Sick children
Sick children come into contact with adults a lot because of their illness or disease. Much more so than healthy children. Adults are not always aware that a child (depending on age) is quite capable of making choices for himself (appropriate to the child's age).
There are still too many children who are treated under duress, for example. Pain and anxiety can be highly traumatizing and have long-term and even lasting effects that children carry with them throughout their lives.

Our pediatric nurse works autonomously
KinderThuisZorg Nederland is a flat organization without hierarchical layers. This means that no (healthcare) managers work for us. Pediatric nurses work autonomously from their own profession, are independently responsible and do not need guidance from managers. KinderThuisZorg Nederland has two national offices that serve as service offices supporting our pediatric nurses. Employees work here who, for example, are responsible for the recruitment and selection of new employees and the financial administration. No managers work at the service office either and everyone is independently responsible for their own work.
