At KinderThuisZorg-Nederland, we safeguard your and your child's privacy by carefully handling all personal and confidential information.
Professional secrecy and privacy
All pediatric nurses at KinderThuisZorg-Nederland are subject to professional confidentiality, as stipulated in the WGBO and the BIG Act. This professional confidentiality ensures that you and your child feel safe when discussing concerns and problems with the nurse. Everything the nurse hears or sees while providing care remains confidential. This means that information about your child and family is never simply shared with others.
What personal data do we keep?
When your child is registered with KinderThuisZorg-Nederland, we create a Digital Child Dossier (DKD). This file stores the personal data necessary to provide optimal care to your child. This includes name, address, date of birth, BSN number and medical data relevant to the provision of care. This information helps us correctly identify your child and avoid confusion with other children. We process only the information that is essential to providing the best care.
The Digital Child Record (DKD) can only be accessed by the nurses directly involved in your child's care. They can only view records for the children they personally nurse. In exceptional cases, such as night, weekend or on-call shifts, nurses can access the records of a child they have not previously nursed. This happens only if there is a valid reason, such as while providing care to an unknown child in an urgent situation or when your child needs care from a nurse from another team during a vacation.
